Jack's Campers' Rental Policy


  • Motorhome reservations require a refundable damage deposit of $500. Trailer reservations require a refundable damage deposit of $500 and Tent Campers reservations require a refundable damage deposit of $350. The total of the rental fees, taxes, and any extras are required when unit is picked up. In some cases the full amount and any extras booked may be due and payable up front.
  • Damage deposit could be forfeited in whole or in part for loss of equipment, interior or exterior damage, interior and exterior cleaning, additional mileage, refueling of gasoline, sales tax due, or any other extraordinary wear on the unit.
  • Motorhomes rented a minimum of seven days May 1 through September 15 and a minimum of 3 days, September 16 to April 30.
  • Trailers and tent campers rented a minimum of 1 week may 1 through September 15 and during special events, with a 4 day minimum the remainder of the year.
  • Insurance requires renters to be 25 years of age or older.
  • All renters must hold a valid drivers license.
  • Forms of payment accepted are Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or Cash.
  • Pick up time is during regular business hours unless otherwise arranged. Damage deposit will be forfeited if rental is not picked up.
  • Return time is 11:00 am. Late returns are subject to a $250.00 late charge plus daily rental fee.
  • No Sunday pickups. We are closed on Sundays.
  • Gasoline tanks are filled when unit is picked up and must be returned full.
  • No smoking is allowed in our rental units. NO EXCEPTIONS. If unit is smoked in your damage deposit will be forfeited and you will be subject to charges for professional cleaning and fumigating.
  • We carry the insurance on the rental units. However, if damages occur you will be responsible for $500 or our deductible, whichever is greater. Putting a rider on your own insurance is fairly inexpensive. We would encourage you to do so.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

*Mileage: On motorized units, we include 500 miles FOR YOUR TRIP. Any mileage above 500 is subject to a charge of $0.35 per mile. We will estimate your mileage by your destination and charge accordingly at pickup. When unit is returned we will calculate actual mileage used and debit/credit accordingly.

  • All rental fees are subject to South Dakota’s state and local taxes.
  • Units must be returned in the same condition as it left in order to receive your full damage deposit back.

All renters and any additional drivers must be 25 years of age or older, with a valid drivers license. We must receive copies of driver’s license for ALL who will be driving. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Tent trailers/fold down trailers must be equipped with 4 flat wiring and 2” ball. Tent trailers are equipped with ICEBOX (some have refrigerators) and MUST have electric hookups for lights, furnace, air conditioner, and water pump. Please make sure your trailer light wiring is in working order BEFORE you arrive to pick up your rental. We cannot guarantee we will have a technician available to assist with vehicle electrical issues.

Travel trailers must be equipped with an electric brake control and a 2 5/16” ball. We will suggest the option of renting an equalizer hitch if we feel you may be in need of one. Please let our staff know ASAP if you would like to rent one of our equalizer hitches as we have a limited supply available. Please make sure brake control and trailer light wiring is in working order BEFORE you arrive to pick up your rental. We cannot guarantee we will have a technician available to assist with brake control or vehicle electrical issues.

Motorhomes require a standard driver’s license to operate.

Insurance: add this trip as a rider to your insurance policy ahead of time. We strongly suggest having a comprehensive travel & Roadside Assistance policy in place as well.

No Smoking: No Exceptions if the unit is smoked in your damage deposit will be forfeited and you will be subject to professional cleaning and fumigating fees.

No Personal Checks within 14 days of departure. Cash or credit cards only on the day of pickup. If payment cannot be made at time of departure YOUR RESERVATION WILL BE CANCELLED. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Gasoline/Fuel tanks are filled when unit is picked up and must be returned FULL—NO EXCEPTIONS.

The interior of the vehicle (including external compartments) must be clean upon return to Jack’s Campers. You will be charged a fee if we have to clean the vehicle for you. You will also be charged a cleaning fee if the exterior of the vehicle is excessively dirty.

Departure and Return: When scheduling your pickup time, please note this is YOUR dedicated time for paperwork completion and orientation. Please arrive on time to avoid delays. We provide a thorough orientation on the operation systems of the vehicle you are renting. Return time is 11:00 am.

Cancellations made prior to 30 days of rental are subject to a $50 cancellation fee. If cancellation is made within 30 days of rental, all pre-paid fees (damage deposit) will be forfeited. If any rental deposit monies are held, we will do our best to re-book your cancelled reservation and refund any rental deposit you have put down.
